Wealdstone were fortunate to claim at point at Maidenhead United on Saturday, drawing 1-1 with a side who haven’t won in National League South since the beginning of December.
Midfielder Scott Davies went close for the Stones with a free-kick but former Leicester City keeper Carl Pentney repelled the effort for the hosts.
Ex-Reading youngster Davies then went close with another effort but the Magpies held firm.
Stones skipper Wes Park opened the scoring after 24 minutes for the visitors. Davies whipped in a corner and the centre-back was on hand to volley beyond Magpies keeper Pentney.
Maidenhead were improved after the break, though, and drew level after 57 minutes. Dave Tarpey sent in a corner and Christian Smith nodded home for the hosts.
That goal saw the Magpies start to control proceedings and Smith might have put his side in front when he met Rene Steer’s cross soon after.
Dean Inman then had a header cleared off the line before Harry Pritchard saw a header superbly pushed over by Joe Taylor in the Wealdstone goal.
The draw leaves Wealdstone 15th, six points above the relegation zone ahead of tonight’s home game with Oxford City.
