Wealdstone have signed Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Alex Lynch on loan as cover for the injured Jonathan North.

The Stones' regular number one was withdrawn after 75 minutes of Saturday's 3-1 win over a Queens Park Rangers XI at Grosvenor Vale, with 41-year-old striker Scott McGleish taking his place between the sticks for the final 15 minutes.

However, with Gary Malone out on loan at AFC Dunstable, Stones boss Gordon Bartlett was at risk of having to start a semi-fit North against Bath City on Saturday in the first game of the National League South season.

Lynch, 20, joined the Chairboys from Peterborough United last summer and played second-fiddle to Matt Ingram for all but the final four games of the season following injury to the Blues' first-choice in the final league game of the season.

Three of those four games included the League Two play-off semi-finals and final, with Lynch unable to prevent Southend United prevailing on penalties at Wembley.

Lynch has previously spent time out on loan at Hayes and Hayes and Burnham whilst at Adams Park.
