Wealdstone skipper Wes Parker has signed up for another year with the Stones, becoming the latest player to commit to the National League South side.

The former Grimsby Town centre-back, 31, has been with the Stones since 2010 and was a mainstay of the backline last season.

Boss Gordon Bartlett enthused: “I am delighted that Wes has committed to us for a further year. He delivered some excellent performances after our difficult start to last season and certainly led by example.

“Although we were disappointed to lose him in the early part of last campaign with his Iron Man and Triathlon exploits, he undoubtedly benefited tremendously from outstanding fitness levels.”

Parker, who lists Gainsborough Trinity, Brigg Town and Boston United among his former employers, made 26 league appearances last term.
