Veteran striker Jefferson Louis has become the latest player to commit his future to Wealdstone and insists he could see himself ending his career with the Stones.

The 36-year-old has signed a new agreement to remain at Grosvenor Vale in the National League South next term after finishing as the club's top scorer in the Conference South last season, netting ten times in 18 games.

And the much-travelled hitman believes after a career which has spanned a whopping 35 clubs, the Stones could be his final port of call.

He told Football Exclusives: "I do [feel I could retire here]. I feel like everything is easier for me and it is round the corner from my work place.

"The management are perfect. I feel like it is a club I could eventually see myself playing my last game for."

And the former Hendon and Margate hitman was full of credit for Stones boss Gordon Bartlett, who brought the Dominica international to the club in December.

Louis explained: "He gets me. I have a lot of clubs but the managers who understand me get the best out of me and that is what I respect about him as a person.

"It was a no-brainer in a sense. Other teams were trying to lure me away but I have showed my loyalty to them (Wealdstone) and the fans.

"I enjoyed it and if you are enjoying something, why are you going to change it?"
