Wealdstone were knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 at Concord Rangers in their replay on Tuesday night.

The Stones were on the verge of progressing in Saturday’s first match after a Joe Turner goal gave them a 1-0 lead.

But Concord snatched a 1-1 draw when Joe Gardner netted a 95th minute equaliser.

Manager Gordon Bartlett said: “I’m not sure how many black cats I’ve run over but lady luck has totally deserted us this season.

“Conceding in the sixth minute of injury time on Saturday was hard to take and then we lost a man after 15 minutes in the replay.

“Despite being down to ten men we created three or four good chances but we can’t keep saying that.”

Wealdstone headed to their Ryman Premier Division opponents for Tuesday’s replay hoping for a positive result to take into the league where they are bottom of the table.

The hosts suffered a setback when keeper Jamie Butler was stretchered off after colliding with new Stones signing Enoch Showunmi.

The 6ft 5in former Nigerian international has a vast array of Football League experience including spells at Luton Town, Bristol City, Leeds United and Notts County.

The 32-year-old last played for Plymouth Argyle whilst on loan from Notts County.

Bartlett said: “Enoch is not match fit but in time he will bring a wealth of experience with his height and physical strength which is what we’ve been looking for.”

Wealdstone have also brought in midfielder Daniel Brown from Maidenhead United and former Harrow Borough winger Shaun Lucien.

Concord keeper Butler was replaced in goal by defender Jack Lampe. But the visitors were already down to ten men after Luke O’Nien was sent off for handling the ball on the line.

Danny Glozier fired home the penalty and added a second spot-kick before the break when James Hammond fouled Gary Ogilvie.

Bartlett, whose side travel to Weston-Super-Mare this weekend, said: “We need something to ignite the season. I sincerely hope we can pick up our second win over the weekend.”
