Harrow Town Ladies hadn’t had the easiest season losing a few tight and tough games.

However, they ended their season on a high note by beating Hampstead CC away.

Harrow Town lost the toss and were put in to bat first. They got off to a fairly slow start but soon the runs began to flow. Iqraa Hussain and Rieya Patel put on a great partnership to help guide the ladies to a decent total of 114 with Iqraa top scoring on 41 runs and Rieya making a hard fought 24.

The ladies had scored 112 playing Hampstead at home the week before and lost the game only in the final over with three balls to spare so they knew they would have to fight hard to win this.

Harrow got off to a great start with Bibi Dandool removing one of the openers for a duck. They continued to pick up wickets through the innings and fielded extremely tightly to keep the pressure on Hampstead. Rieya Patel followed up her great performance with the bat by picking up two wickets for eight runs and Hampstead were bowled out for 69 runs.

Though Harrow face the possibility of being relegated to Division B, they played extremely well to beat one of the top four teams in the league. They showed real heart and that they hadn’t given up and will return stronger next season.
