Bessborough returned to winning ways with a seven-wicket victory over Alexandra Park in the Middlesex Championship Division One on Saturday.

Alexandra Park opted to bat first but were dismissed for 208 in 52.3 overs.

Nitin Modha picked up four for 33 while Rohan Karkhanis had equally impressive figures (four for 33).

Openers Ishan and Jigar Shah got off to a strong start in reply as they put on 59 in the first eight overs.

Ishan was out for 19 but Jigar Shah hit 61 for his fourth half-century in the league this season.

Ramesh Gunalan also impressed as he notched 51 for his third half-century during the campaign.

Sherrick Chavda (29 not out) and Hemmen Jutla (32 not out) steered the side to the target inside just 29 overs.

The win keeps Bessborough in second place four points behind leaders Osterley.

Bessborough Seconds were held to a draw in their Division Three match against Enfield Seconds.

Their opponent sdeclared on 230 for five and Bessborough were relieved to avoid defeat as they limped to 116 for nine.

The Thirds eased to a seven-wicket win over Perivale Phoenicians Thirds in Middlesex 1987 Division One.

New signing Tade Carmichael produced a superb unbeaten knock of 148 to fire the side to the points.
