Wealdstone midfielder Mark Bentley has decided to leave the newly-promoted Conference South club.

The former Gillingham player's work commitments have made travelling to matches difficult and he has decided to move on with first-team football not guaranteed at the Stones.

Wealdstone boss Gordon Bartlett said: "We couldn't guarantee Mark a place in the side with so much competition in the midfield. He has really enjoyed his time at the club and wishes us all well for the coming campaign.

"Likewise we wish Mark all the very best; his professional attitude on and off the pitch in helping us win the league last season was plain to see. It was unfortunate that fitness meant that Mark didn't get the minutes he undoubtedly deserved and we totally understand his difficulty with the travelling and wanting to play at this stage of his career. We wish him well."

The club have also confirmed that Welsh striker Jay Brockway has moved on after trials.
