Wealdstone have completed a double swoop for Hampton & Richmond Borough midfielders Tom Hickey and Joe Turner.

Manager Gordon Bartlett has been a keen admirer of the pair for some time and has managed to bring them to Grosvenor Vale.

Hickey will be familiar to Stones supporters after he scored a spectacular 30-yard winner for Boro in the 3-2 away win in the Middlesex Senior Cup final last month.

Speaking after the defeat in their firnal game of the season, Bartlett said: “For their winner, Hickey will not hit a shot any sweeter than that and there is not a lot you can do about that.”

It takes the club’s summer signings up to four after securing deals with Carl Martin and Tom Collins.

Wealdstone have also agreed a new deal with midfielder Elliott Godfrey.

The 31-year-old was a consistent performer last season for the Stones as they won promotion to the Conference South.

Former Watford youngster Godfrey has committed his future to the club and will be hoping to help Bartlett’s side consolidate in the league following the team’s title triumph.
