Wealdstone swoop for young pair
5:00pm Wednesday 12th June 2013 in Sport
Wealdstone have boosted their squad for next season by signing two talented youngsters.
The Stones have brought in attacking midfielder Jack Hutchison who appeared for Wingate and Finchley last season in the Ryman Premier Division and won their young player of the season accolade. He has previous experience with Barnet Under-18s and signed for Wingate from Northwood last year.
Wealdstone have also signed Jerome Okimo who can play down the left in defence or midfield. He was with Chalfont St Peter last year and had trials with League One Colchester United last season. Okimo won Chalfont’s player’s player and supporter’s player of the year.
Manager Gordon Bartlett said: “These are two very good young players. We have previously had great success with signing young, up and coming players – we took Richard Jolly when he was an 18-year-old – and we are doing as we have done previously at Wealdstone to everyone’s benefit.
“The rest of last year’s squad all want to stay with us and we are looking forward to the start of pre-season training in two weeks time.”
