Writer visits Pinner school
A LOCAL author paid a visit to a Pinner school as part of National Book Week.
Yvonne Coppard, who was born in Hillingdon, read to pupils at Heathfield School, in Beaulieu Drive, and answered their questions.
Ms Coppard is a best selling author, who has written a number of children's books, including the Alexander the Great series.
She signed books for pupils aged 11 to 14, during her visit yesterday, which was part of National Book Week, a countrywide initiative to encourage children to read.
Pupils from the school will also be taking part in literary competitions and visiting the Children's Bookshop, in Bridge Street, Pinner.
