A SUPERMARKET says it is working to tackle parking problems at its Wembley branch.
Shahrar Ali, of Brent Green Party, has been campaigning for months to stop Asda Lories parking in the road outside the shop, in Forty Lane.
Helen McTaggart, a spokesman for the supermarket, said safety is the store’s “number one priority”.
She said: “We are aware of this issue and we are doing everything we can to ensure the lorries don’t park on the road.”
The Green Party say the lorries park up outside the branch if they have to wait to make a delivery, forcing residents to walk in the road to get round them.
Ms McTaggart said the company wants to move its gates back from Forty Lane to create a space where lorries can queue while waiting to deliver goods.
She said she hopes a planning application for the scheme will be submitted soon and said delivery times have been staggered in an effort to make sure lorries are not left waiting to get in.
