FIVE girls from a Pinner School are holding a charity fun run to help disadvantaged children in Asia and Africa.
The 16-year-olds, all from Nower Hill High School, in George V Avenue, are getting a group of people together for the event, due to be held at Harrow Recreation Ground on February 1.
Priyasa Uruthiraswaran said: “We had a person from Wings of Hope come to our school and we saw a video about it.
“Me and my friends want to raise money for this charity so we are getting everyone involved. We want to get BBC radio involved as well.
“Wings of Hope give free education for poor and orphaned children so it's really good. At least our money is going to somewhere that's going to help people.”
The sponsored run is raising funds for two education projects, one in Malawi and one in South India.
The event is due to be held from 2pm to 4.30pm.
Priyasa will be taking part, along with fellow pupils Laxsica Vijayananthan, Thanuja Opplimany, Thanuchya Vahesen and Arrani Nirimilantha.
Anyone who wants to sponsor them can do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/sponsorfunrun.
