Vaughan Primary School won the borough competitions in girls football and hockey quicksticks and progressed onto the regional festival of the London Youth Games, held at Crystal Palace Sports Centre last week.
In total, 19 pupils from the school, along with parents and teachers, had the opportunity to attend this huge sporting event. Our school’s ethos for sport is about inclusion and enjoyment of PE and sport, so we are delighted to have achieved double success to allow so many children from Vaughan the chance to experience, and be inspired by a large sporting competition.
Elliot Bird, sports technician at the school and coach of the teams, is extremely proud these children were representing the borough as well as the school.
Although the teams had mixed success with both narrowly missing out on a quarter-final place, the day was enjoyed by everyone who attended.
