As a resident living in close proximity to the Harrow Leisure Centre car park, I was pleased to read of the proposal to introduce parking charges there (‘Pay and display plans for leisure centre car park’, Harrow Times, February 12).
This will hopefully put a stop to the anti-social behaviour and disturbances that happen on a regular basis there.
At the moment, commuters and local workers park all day for free during the week, which takes up many spaces for those using the leisure centre, Herga bowls and the gymnastics centre.
If users of the leisure centre do not want to pay, public transport is available and will stop right outside, or another option is to walk and leave the car at home.
