I tried to log on to the Harrow Borough Council site to register my protest against the surcharge of £75 for collecting rubbish, but the consultation closed after 18 days, i.e. January 6 to January 29. This proposal is a ‘back-door’ tax from the council and no one has explained whether we will get a refund if a collection is missed.
Our collection has been missed four times in 2015.
Most consultations are kept open for months, but by keeping a short timeframe, the council pretends to consult the public, but has no intention of taking any notice of the opinions voiced.
How typical of our political masters. No doubt they will be crawling around when the elections come round.
