A few years ago I received a parking ticket on a wide main road.
The lamp post with the sign had fallen down, but I still had to pay despite my car not being an obstruction.
Harrow Borough Council has clearly marked yellow lines outside my son’s school, yet I regularly see the same persistent offenders parked there, causing chaos, blocking the road when taking/ collecting children.
I have contacted the council twice, but nothing has been done. The police are not interested as they say it is a civil matter.
I find it ironic that the only parking ticket I have seen issued was during the school holidays.
I wonder what it will take before the council acts; will a child have to be injured when frustrated drivers try to go past a car blocking their path?
