Around 150 Christmas presents were handed over to the Mayor of Harrow and children’s services at Harrow Borough Council.
This was part of Harrow Police’s campaign to make sure hundreds of children in care across our borough received a special gift during Christmas.
The response to our Christmas Tree gift appeal was so overwhelming that the surplus of gifts will now be donated to children in hospitals in Harrow.
The presents were donated by the public, police officers and police staff after a Christmas tree was placed outside Harrow Police Station encouraging visitors and passers-by to donate gifts. The giving of a gift to a child in care who may have been through some difficult times, by a person they have never met, was truly within the spirit of Christmas.
We believe our initiative put a smile on many children’s faces and the amount of presents donated and the thought that went into choosing the gifts were remarkable.
