My son lives in Barker House flats on the corner of Canning Road and George Gange Way. There is no car park for the flats and all around are yellow lines.

When anyone from the block needs a repair done, there is nowhere the workman can park without getting a ticket.

I have been on to Harrow Borough Council to ask about it, and all they can say is to park on the lines if there is always someone in the van, but if there is only one man that is not possible.

They can also park in resident bays between certain times, but not every workman can keep to those times.

The only other option is for my son to get a visitors’ parking ticket, but we would have to make sure that there was a space to park in the first place, or it would be a waste of money as he doesn’t own a car himself.

My son is a vulnerable person living on benefits and hasn’t got money to throw away.

When we go up to see him, we have to park at the back and walk for miles.

The flats are part of the Greenleaf Way area with a barrier across, but people are only allowed to park there if they are residents, and my son does not have the barrier code.

One day my son will want to move. How on earth are the removal men supposed to move someone if they have to park miles away?

Couldn’t there at least be a little bit of road either in Canning Road or Grant Road itself for something like a loading bay just for these flats?

It’s just not good enough and I’m sure other tenants feel the same way.
