What we need is an expansion not a dilution for the arts in Harrow.

Where on earth does Harrow Borough Council propose to accommodate the hundreds of art centre attendees for professional stage performances, fitness, dance, music and art classes?

At last we have a public exhibition space, a smart white cube gallery, which is a gem. Why close it?

As a professional artist and tutor who has run hundreds of classes and workshops for adults, sixth-form pupils and children since 1990 at the arts centre, I know that my fellow tutors and students are outraged at the suggestion of closing what is now the only multi-cultural centre in our borough.

Without it Harrow will become a cultural desert.
