Members of Harrow Inter Faith Council are horrified by the deaths, injuries and suffering of people in Gaza, Israel, Iraq, Syria and the many other areas of conflict across the world.

Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy go out to each person suffering bereavement, injury, fear, anxiety, hunger, thirst, deprivation, loss of home and possessions.

We are very saddened that so many children, elderly and helpless victims find themselves in battle zones of violence and danger.

People will have many different views on the causes and effects of the various conflicts in our world today.

Whilst we are trying to build peace and understanding, political issues are being mistaken for
religious issues and religions are being used for political ends.

As a result, faith communities and places of worship the world over are being targeted for abuse, violence and destruction.

The Harrow community has a reputation for cohesion; people of many different religions and
cultures work together for the common good, creating an atmosphere of respect, caring and friendship.

In this its 30th anniversary year, Harrow Inter Faith Council commits itself to do everything in its power to help bring about a world of peace, security, happiness and prosperity for all people.
