Many thanks for highlighting the chief executive debate.
It beggars belief that anyone could try to reinstate a position on Harrow Borough Council where there is no responsibility, and at the astronomical salary of £183,097 a year — more than the Prime Minister.
The chief executive of Harrow Council would oversee the well-being of just 215,000 Harrow residents — the Prime Minister is responsible for the wellbeing of more than 60 million.
I seriously object to the reinstatement and also would like to start a consultation that nobody at Harrow Council should be paid anywhere near the salary of the Prime Minister.
We do not need any more management posts — we need fewer so frontline services can be maintained. My council tax payments should not be wasted on personnel who have no responsibility whatsoever.
