I am writing to comment on Susan Hall’s letter (“Project is not only remedy”, Your Views, July 24).
Most certainly Cllr Susan Hall did attend a meeting with the carer champions back in November 2013. Had she conveyed to those carer champions present at the meeting the sentiments expressed in her letter, there would have been little need for further correspondence.
Unfortunately, her sentiments were expressed in terms more in line with her usual attitude and demeanour, as typified by her response to a question regarding the removal of the CEO in Harrow. Then council leader, she is reported to have told opposition councillors that ‘a weaker leader would need a chief executive. I do not need a chief executive’.
That, sadly, was the tone she adopted and maintained throughout the meeting.
Now, no longer the leader of the council and her party no longer in power, Cllr Hall needs to curry favour from whoever she believes she can grab a few votes from.
Finally, as Cllr Hall has never met with me in person in order to discuss the reasons behind my support for the carer champions project she is quite unable to comment on my motivation or belief in a panacea.
