Hi everyone, This week I have been working on Brent Dragons' Den which was officially launched on Monday. If I have to say so myself it is a brilliant idea aimed at promoting more positive images of young people on the borough, and engaging them to come up with their own ideas about how to reduce crime.

Based on the TV show it is open to any group of 3 or more aged 13 - 19 years. Ideas once submitted will then be judged to come up with a top five.

These five will then go forward to a ceremony at the ADVAIT Centre in Forty Lane on 30th March. They will present their plans for five minutes and then by questioned for five minutes by the panel of Brent Dragons'.

The Dragons' who will include local MP Dawn Butler and my boss Borough Commander Mark Toland will then select the winner and award them the prize of £6,000.

The prize money is not for the winners to take a trip to Vegas but to implement the idea and hopefully make a real and lasting impact.

If you are interested in taking part or know anyone who maybe interested please e-mail me at neil.anderson2@met.police.uk for an application form. Closing date for submissions is March 9th.

I would like to say a huge thanks to Rachel Sharp editor of the Harrow Times who is committed to reporting positive stories about local youths and without who this Dragons'Den project would never have happened.

I will let you know how this project all works out.

Neil
