Harrow’s very own royal fanatic has said she can "barely contain her excitement" about the Queen’s visit to the Borough next month.

Margaret Tyler, from South Kenton, idolises the monarchy so much, that she has devoted more than 30 years to collecting 10,000 items of royal paraphernalia.

The Queen will visit Krishna Avanti School in Camrose Avenue, Edgware, on March 29 in honour of her 60 years on the throne.

Ms Tyler said: "It’s an absolute honour that the Queen will be visiting Harrow on the first day of her Jubilee. I can barely contain my excitement. "I met her on her 80th birthday and baked her a cake. I’d love for the chance to meet her again in Harrow.”

The 68-year-old, who is known both in the UK and abroad for her vast collection, said that she has been busy trying to get her hands on limited edition items in honour of the Queen’s 60th year.

She said: "In honour of her sixty years on the throne, the Queen has bought out collectible items. I spent £250 on a teapot last week, but I’m far too scared to use it just in case I break it - it’s so lavish. I’m trying to track down the full set too."

The royal junkie said she feels "lucky" to have been around to see such historical royal events.

She added: "The Royal family has seen it’s ups and downs over the past 60 years. Here’s to another sixty. Lets hope they are positive."
