The organisers of the Roxeth Show in Harrow say the weekend festival is all about bringing the community together.

The free summer festival, which includes a fun fair, entertainment, music and a carnival parade, is being sponsored by the Harrow Times.

Juliette Davies, of the Harrow and Pinner Lions, which is organising the event, said: “I love the Roxeth Show because it’s something for everyone in Harrow to enjoy.

“It’s about bringing together the whole community and offering people as much fun as possible for as little as possible.

“It’s been a challenge organising the event because there’s so much more on this year, but it will all be worth it.

“It’s going to be bigger and better than ever and it’s a great chance for people of Harrow to get to know their community.”

The event, organised by the Harrow and Pinner Lions Club, will be at the Roxeth Recreational ground, in Eastcote Road, South Harrow on Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15.

Ms Davies said: “We’re trying to make the whole weekend affordable for everyone so as many people as possible can enjoy it.”

The event is free to enter and there will be many free activities for people to enjoy including music from Soul Survivor choir, a pets corner, magicians and a dog show.

There will be more than 60 stalls from local charities, small businesses and community groups on both days of the festival.

On the Saturday there will be HA2CANDO Children's Carnival with school children performing in colourful costumes on floats.

On the Sunday there will be a dog show and organisers are calling for entries for the Best Rescue Dog category.

For this category of the competition organisers are looking for a dog which has been rescued and has found a loving new home.

Owners can register their pet by emailing their dog’s story and a photograph to info@roxethshow.co.uk. For more information about the show, visit www.roxethshow.co.uk.
