A COLOURFUL carnival parade will be the highlight of an annual summer show, sponsored by the Harrow Times, this weekend.

The Roxeth Show, in its 33rd year, will be held on Saturday, July 9, and Sunday, July 10, with attractions such as a funfair, the Fun Dog show, quad bikes for children, Kidology dance group, food and crafts stalls and a bar.

The show is run by the Harrow and Pinner Lions, formed in 1963, which carries out charity work in the area.

The RSPCA will be running the dog show this year and will have information on rehoming and will provide vouchers for Identichipping and neutering.

The event will have stalls providing henna and glitter tattoos, jewellery, preserves, bric-a-brac, ice cream, hand-made cards, ceramics and toys as well as food.

Groups including Harrow Community Police, Scout Groups, Feltham Sea Cadets, Race for Life, Harrow Libraries, Project 5000, South Harrow Residents' Association and Harrow Fuschia Society among others will have stalls over the weekend.

Lion President Juliette Davies said: “The organisation has gone really well and we’re very excited for this weekend.

“There is a great range of stalls, activities for young people and shows that will entertain the whole family.

“There is a real variety of items for the two days and we hope the community will join us for the event.

“We’re very excited to be hosting the summer show and we’re looking forward to the carnival parade on the Saturday to officially kick things off.”

The show takes place on Saturday, July 10, and Sunday, July 11, from 11am to 5pm both days at Roxeth Recreation Ground, Eastcote Road, in South Harrow. Admission is free.
