Organisers of the Roxeth show hopes this year’s event will be something different for people to enjoy.

The annual two-day show, now in its 36th year, will be taking place this Saturday and Sunday on the Roxeth Recreation Ground, in South Harrow.

The free event, sponsored by the Harrow Times, is organised by the Harrow and Pinner Lions and will feature a larger funfair and - for the first time - a performance stage throughout the weekend.

Organiser Juliette Davies said: “It really is a chance for the community to come together and celebrate the start of summer.

“The Roxeth show is for the community by the community. It is all organised by volunteers in their spare time and most important of all it is free for everyone to attend.

“We are doing something different for this year’s show. We have a performance stage now so the layout will be different and we’ll have an open space where families will be able to sit in the sun.

“We want to have a bit more of a festival atmosphere, a party at the park for Harrow."

Each day of the show will start at 11am and end around 5pm with performances due to start from 11:30am.

With good weather forecast for the weekend, organisers have been inundated with stall applications from community groups, charities and businesses.

Old favourites including the HA2CANDO Children's Carnival on Saturday, and the annual dog show on Sunday, will also be taking place with Harrow Community Radio will getting everyone in the party mood with music and commentary.

Mrs Davies added: “There is a lot to celebrate this year. It’s the 50th anniversary of the Pinner and Harrow Lions, the tenth anniversary of the children’s carnival and also summer has finally arrived.”

Dance or performance groups still have a chance to take part at the show and those interested can contact at info@roxethshow.co.uk or 020 7477 2255 for more information.
