Everyone knows the pain of trying to pack two weeks’ worth of suncream, shorts and swimming costumes in what feels like a tiny 15kg suitcase.
But now there is set to be more pain for holidaymakers as Ryanair’s new cabin bag policy takes off.
The budget airline is launching its new rules today – and it could affect the way you travel.
Only priority boarding passengers will now be able to take two cabin bags on for free. That means anyone who needs more than one bag with them on the plane will have to pay £5 for the privilege.
Everyone will be allowed one small bag but will be forced to put their other bag in hold at the boarding gate, but it will be free.
The allowance of free bags is the same - a large case no more than 10kg and 55 x 40 x 20cm, plus a smaller bag no bigger than 35 x 20 x 20cm.
It has also cut fees for some checked-in bags and increased the weight limit from 15kg to 20kg.
A checked bag on an off-peak flight will cost £25, down from £35, instead of “during peak travel periods” – Christmas, Easter and the summer.
