A woman who dragged a police officer along with her car has been convicted of dangerous driving.

Kimberley Marshall, of Carmelite Way, Harrow, failed to fully stop for police and drove off at speed in Hempstead Road, Watford on 30 September 2016.

As well as dragging one officer alongside her black BMW for “a short distance”, she overtook 58 cars while driving on the wrong side of the road and jumped a red light at a major junction.

She was handed a five month sentence suspended for 12 months, was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay costs of £2,300 and a victim surcharge of £115.

PC James Cornelius, of Harrow Police, said: “We are pleased to have secured this conviction for what was a very dangerous offence that could have had disastrous consequences.”

Marshall was eventually arrested with help from colleagues from Hertfordshire Police. A man who had been riding with her was arrested in December 2016 and charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
