Residents are encouraged to ‘have their say’ on cuts to the police service at a public meeting later this month.
Information relating in particular to the police buildings in Harrow will be discussed at a public consultation at Harrow Civic Centre, in Station Road, on September 26.
Chaired by the Borough Commander Chief Superintendent Simon Ovens, it will examine Sadiq Khan’s draft strategy in dealing with the need to save millions of pounds in the Metropolitan Police service.
Mr Khan intends to spare the front line from cuts and, as a result, seeks to close or merge stations that are underused.
Despite concerns that South Harrow Police Station could be under threat, the Mayor has reaffirmed that it is not set for closure.
This meeting will provide the public with the opportunity to find out more about the strategy and for them to air their opinions on it.
