A hospital radio is celebrating being crowned as the station of the year at a national awards ceremony.
Radio Brockley, the radio station Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, picked up three awards at the National Hospital Broadcasting Association Awards, on Saturday, March 25.
They were awarded for their five part documentary about the story of the station, which was founded in 1966 and is London’s longest running hospital radio.
They also won station of the year for the fourth year in a row and best specialist music show for their World Music Series Show, which is hosted by Daniel Edward, one of the trustees at the radio station.
Judy de Helnner, a volunteer at Radio Brockley, was shortlisted for best female presenter.
Mr Edward said: “This year's awards continues Radio Brockley's strong performance at the annual awards ceremony and marks another year for the station as London's number one hospital radio station.”
