A police special constable based in Harrow has been jailed after being found guilty of several sexual offences relating to children.

Nicholas Tweedie, 32, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on September 16 to two years in prison for taking an indecent image of a child.

The special constable, who was attached to the Harrow borough force, was also found guilty on three counts of making indecent images of children, receiving two-year prison terms for each, to run concurrently with the aforementioned charge.

Tweedie, of no fixed abode, was arrested by detectives from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command on June 10, and was subsequently charged on July 28.

He was suspended on the day of his arrest and will now face misconduct proceedings.

As part of his punishment, Tweedie has been placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life, and was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
