Two residents from a Harrow care home attended an event at London’s Olympia to support dementia research.
Birchwood Grange residents Anne Ingram and Roger Spicer spent the day testing the new table at The Alzheimer’s Show as part of their involvement with the BAT Foundation (Bounce Alzheimer’s Therapy).
BAT has been developing a table tennis table suitable for those living with dementia as it believes sport can be used to battle the disease. BAT has been named Table Tennis England’s chosen charity for next year.
Sport features prominently at Birchwood Grange, located on Preston Hill. The care home has also introduced netball to the residents as a way to increase mobility and hand-eye coordination.
