Quiz goers raised more than £3,800 for St Luke’s Hospice.

Nearly two dozen teams put their knowledge to the test at the Kenton hospice's spring quiz night on Saturday, April 16.

Some 170 people came together for a night of friendly rivalry along with 15 volunteers who helped out at the event.

Brenda Barnes, a 61-year-old secretary, said: "I took part in the quiz to give pay back for the support and kindness St Luke’s hospice at home team gave to us when Len Barnes was terminally ill. The quiz was great fun and St Luke’s do a marvellous job."

While 23-year-old writer and tutor Amy Saul, said: "The quiz is always well organised and fun.

"St Luke’s looked after my dad when he was ill and I found the hospice to be a worthy cause and the staff were very helpful."

Serendipity was the winning team on the night and won the sought after St Luke’s quiz trophy and a bottle of wine each.
