THERE was mud, sweat and tears as hundreds of people raised money for charity.
People took to the Bannister Outdoor Sports Centre, in Uxbridge Road, Harrow, to take part in a sponsored mud run for St Luke’s Hospice, based in Kenton.
A total of 145 people ran through the 5km trail – getting stuck in the mud as they trudged on. In total, £8,500 was raised for the charity.
Gemma Woolhead and her family took part in memory of her father, Steve Masters.
She said: “The Mud Run was lovely and wet and I found out I have muscles which I did not know existed. It was fun and I enjoyed doing it as a team with others and raising money in memory of my dad.
“It was tough but I kept going as I know that all the work St Luke’s do and they never give up.”
