COUNCILLORS hope new technology at a library will encourage more people to sign up as members.
The Leader of Harrow Council cllr David Perry and cllrs Sue Anderson and Varsha Parmar are amongst the first people to use Open + technology at Wealdstone Library.
Launched this week, the new technology allows library members to access the library to borrow books, study, and access the internet, just by using their card and a pin when it is closed.
The council hopes this will increase the access to libraries and if it is successful in Wealdstone it may be expanded to the other libraries.
