People in Harrow have come in the top ten in London for those who walk for recreation, according to a new league table published today from Target Ovarian Cancer.

According to the league table based on data from the Department of Transport, 47 per cent of Harrow residents walk recreationally at least once a week – with the borough ranking 10th in the London league table.

Elsewhere in north London, 54 per cent of walkers in Barnet take a recreational stroll more than once a week while 53 per cent of walkers in Haringey do the same.

Target Ovarian Cancer has published the league table to launch The Ovarian Cancer Walk, which takes place in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday, October 17.

Susan Booth, Director of Fundraising for Target Ovarian said: “We are calling on the people of London to put their best foot forward to help us improve early diagnosis, find new treatments and provide vital support for women with ovarian cancer.

“The Ovarian Cancer Walk is our flagship event, and we’re very excited to bring our supporters together to take steps to beat ovarian cancer.”
