The alleged killer of a 55-year-old mechanic will stand trial in November.

Granville Thomas, of Harrow-on-the-Hill, was found suffering serious stab injuries after police were called to a service road at the back of Ranelagh Road and Station Road in Harlesden at around 6.30pm on Monday, June 29.

The married father – who is better known by his street names Rat or Blacks and worked as a mechanic at a garage based in Ranelagh Road – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speaking at the time of the death, Mr Thomas' brother Louis Thomas made an appeal for anyone with information to come forward

He said: "My brother was murdered last night, my family are devastated.

“I would ask if anyone saw or knows anything in relation to his murder, please speak to the police."

Dwayne King, 30, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink from Belmarsh prison on September 25.

He spoke only to confirm his name and plead not guilty to murder.

Judge Stephen Kramer QC remanded him in custody and set a trial date for November 30, which is expected to take up to seven days.
