Cakes and champagne were shared as a care home celebrated the 106th birthday of one of its tenants.
Dorothy Jardine was surrounded by cards and cakes on Friday, September 25 as she was joined by friends and fellow tenants at Kent House care home in Augustine Road, Harrow.
Dressed in a green dress to match the Queen, Dorothy celebrated all the ups and downs of her 106 years – from being one of the most popular girls in school to meeting her late husband George while travelling during the Second World War.
The couple, who never had children, had moved to Hatch End after they married, where they got involved with the Methodist church in Love Lane, Pinner, and joined a variety of clubs.
After her husband’s death, Dorothy then moved to Kent House in 2013 where she still remains.
