THESE happy and smiling faces show just some of the fun that was had as a community came together for a charity relay.

Runners, walkers and young bouncers took to the tracks at Bannister Sports Centre, in Uxbridge Road, to take part in this year’s annual overnight Relay for Life fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.
Survivors and those currently undergoing treatment for cancer kick were joined by Harrow Mayor Cllr Krishna Suresh as they started the fundraiser with a lap of honour.
Then teams of eight to 15 runners and walkers laced up their shoes and took to the tracks for the overnight relay, while everyone else enjoyed the carnival atmosphere.
As dusk fell, the specially made Candle of Hope bags – decorated in memory or in celebration of loved ones - were filled with sand and lit up with candles around the track.
Thousands of pounds have been raised by the teams - both on the day and from a variety of fundraising events held before the event - and the team behind the relay are continuing to add up all the cash.
