Police pledge to make a high street a safer place after five people were arrested on drugs charges this morning.

Officers from Marlborough Safer Neighbourhood Team and Wealdstone Proactive Team executed a drugs warrant this morning at Elmgrove Crescent, Harrow.

The address was being targeted by police as the occupants were believed to be dealing drugs in Wealdstone High Street.

A total of 11 bags of cannabis, a weapon, scales, a large amount of mobile phones and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Officers arrested two men and one woman for possessing controlled drugs, with intent to supply.

Two further occupants will be prosecuted for possession.

Police will now work with Harrow council to evict the offenders from their home for using a council property to commit crime.

Marlborough Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Simon Fretwell said: "Drugs are a priority for me and my team, it funds other criminal activity and it will not be tolerated.

“Not only will we prosecute you for drug possession but we will evict you from your homes.

“Under no circumstances should anyone be using council property to store drugs.

“Three dealers have been taken off our streets and it is my aim to make the high street a safer place."
