A NURSING home has celebrated its 25th anniversary with the opening of a new care unit.

Meera Care Home Ltd in Kingsbury celebrated its 25th anniversary with an event held for those they care for and their families.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Brent Councillor Pervez Ahmed and Councillor Krupesh Hirani, who is responsible for adult social care in Brent.

Proceedings began with a talk from the Deputy Mayor detailing the support the care home can expect moving forward, followed by a networking opportunity for families.

Thoughts of the future continued with the launching of the new Domiciliary Care Unit which is expected to be completed in the next few months.

The expansion that includes ten new rooms is a timely celebration of 25 years of caring for the elderly.

Ashish Nath, a manager at the care home said: “We need to look at and respond to the needs of the people in the community.”
