A man who was found guilty of stabbing to death his neighbour is to be sentenced today.

Trevor Gibbon, of Windsor Crescent, was found guilty at the Old Bailey on Thursday, June 25 of the murder of 45-year-old mother-of-one Alison Morrison, also of Windsor Crescent.

In a victim impact statement read out to the court, her son Kori Morrison called for Gibbon to be locked up for the rest of his life.

He said: "To me, I can't fully understand how Trevor Gibbon would receive anything less than having to spend the rest of his life in prison.

"For him to have stabbed my mum at least 35 times, consequently taking her life in an unimaginably excruciating painful way, I fail to see how any prospect of release from prison could be given to him.”
