A drug dealer has been jailed for 22 months after being caught in possession of cannabis on several occasions.

Amar Bhargava, of Edward Road, Harrow, pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court on Monday, June 22 to one count of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, two counts of possession of Class B drugs and one count of dangerous driving.

The 22-year-old was jailed for 22 months and banned from driving for three years following his arrest in August last year after he was found in possession of a large amount of cannabis.

A search of his home led to more than £600 in cash being seized and he was charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Bhargava was again arrested and charged with dangerous driving and possession of cannabis on September 11 last year, after he drove at police officers who were trying to stop him.

His car was later found abandoned with cannabis inside.

On March 3, officers executed a search warrant at an address in Marlborough Hill, Harrow, where Bhargava was found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis, which he tried to discard.

He was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and remanded in custody.

PC Fran Shepherd, of Harrow police, said: "Bhargava, a persistent drug dealer, has finally been jailed after pleading guilty to several offences.

“Harrow police will continue to target and bring before the courts those who think they can escape justice."
