Parents pledged to ensure their child’s human rights were protected at a primary school event.
Belmont School, in Hibbert Road, Harrow Weald, hosted a workshop for parents as part of its work towards the second level of Unicef’s Rights Respecting School Award.
Children invited their parents to learn about children's rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Parents filled out questionnaires at the beginning of the session so organisers could assess how much the parents knew already and show how much progress they made.
At the end of the sessions, parents filled out 'parent pledges' where they pledged they would do things to ensure their child's rights were being enjoyed, such as ensuring they have healthy food and are able to learn the language of their home country.
