There was music and dancing as well as words as poets celebrated World Poetry Day
Poets of all ages gathered at Harrow Arts Centre on Saturday, March 21, for the finals of the World Poetry Day competition run by community poet Judy Karbritz in conjunction with Harrow libraries.
More than one hundred entries were whittled down to around 20, with the shortlisted poets reading aloud to battle it out for first place.
Prize winners from the three age groups - under 11, 12 to 17 and over 18 - included Sukriti Bisht, Amee Mehta and Karishma Desai, and all poets received a certificate.
Guests were also treated to music and dancing, as a Bollywood dancer, a young dance troupe and two singers and a keyboard player entertained the audience during the judging.
