Councillors have passed a motion to tackle the growth of ‘vaping’.

At a council meeting last week, councillors voted in favour of enforcing the ban on e-cigarette sales to under 18-year-olds, along with removing any e-cigarette advertising on Harrow Council property.

The resolution attracted support from all parties and independent councillors.

Cllr Adam Swersky, who proposed the motion, said: “E-cigarettes can be a lifeline for smokers looking to quit.

“But with hundreds of thousands more people taking up vaping each year, it’s only right that we take a sensible and cautious approach to an addictive product whose health impacts remain largely untested.”
