A murder investigation has been launched after woman died after being stabbed.
Police were called to Alexandra Avenue, Rayners Lane, this morning at 7.47am after a woman collapsed in the street from stab wounds.
The victim, believed to be in her 40s, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, in central London, where she died at 11.39am.
A man, also believed to be in his 40s, has been arrested in connection with the murder and will be questioned by police.
Police say enquiries are ongoing and they await the formal identification of the woman.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner, who is leading the investigation, said: "Alexandra Avenue is a busy thoroughfare and I am sure that there will have been people who may have witnessed all or some of the incident who are yet to come forward.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area between 7.30am and 7.50am this morning to get in contact."
