Shoppers donated more than 280 bags of unwanted clothes, toys and other items as part of a charity appeal at a shopping centre.
Visitors to St Ann's Shopping Centre, in Harrow, were invited to donate the items as part of the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Bag It Beat It event.
The 283 bags of donated items will now be sold in BHF shops and could generate an estimated £5,000 for the charity’s research into tackling congenital heart disease.
Shopping centre manager Pieter Strombeck said: “It’s great to see such an amazing number of bags collected from our event.
“The BHF currently funds over £14 million into congenital heart disease research but this year they need to raise even more.
“The Harrow community has done fantastically well and on behalf of everyone at St Anns Shopping, I would like to say a big thank you to those who helped reach this amazing total.”
